Bakers Quay, Gloucester
City Centre Regeneration


Rokeby Merchant purchased the 4.13 acre Bakers Quay site in the centre of Gloucester Docks.  The site comprises 4 listed buildings which were originally constructed in the late 19th century, and a large commercial development site, all adjacent to the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
The development will include:
■ Provender Mill (now completed): 47 new build residential apartments with ground floor restaurant space (Spago) and gym space (The Func Society)
■ Downing’s Malthouse: 49 new build apartments & ground floor retail unit within the retained walls of George Downing's former Malthouse & adjacent High Orchard Street Warehouse
■ The Malthouse: 74 new apartments & 3 commercial units within the conversion of George Downing's No 3 and No 4 warehouses, overlooking the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal
■ Downing’s Tower: 71 apartments in a new 10 story building with commanding views over Gloucester and the Canal
■ Transit Shed: self-contained waterside restaurant with external terrace overlooking the canal & new tow path linking up Gloucester Quays
■ Hotel: new build 104 bedroom hotel for Premier Inn
■ Engine Shed: conversion to 5,634 sq ft Brewers Fayre restaurant
■ Costa Coffee: new build café and drive-through
