Mixed Use Refurbishment
In partnership with a major contractor, Planning and Listed Building consent was obtained to develop Newcastle’s former Co-Op department store into a 239 bed Premier Inn Hotel. The development also included a refurbished multi-storey car park for Q Parks, a converted basement for The Gym health club, and a selection of restaurants including Turtle Bay and Cabana. With an investment value in excess of £30 million, the development was funded by a major UK Pension Fund and completed in 2016, bringing back to life an attractive and important ‘Art Deco’ city centre landmark building.
